Word „music” comes from Greek. A process of music formation was depicted in the antique mythology. Myths tell about Greek gods who created musical arts, nine Muses, who helped the god of beauty and patron of music Apollo, who had no match playing a lyre.

In ancient Greece there was a legend of Pan and the beautiful nymph Syrinx. It explains the birth of a multilateral flute (flute of Pan), encountered in many nations of the world. God Pan, who had a goat appearance, while chasing a beautiful nymph, lost her near the river shore and carved from the coastal reed a mellifluous flute that sounded remarkably. And exactly to this reed was transformed into the beautiful nymph by the gods.

Another ancient Greek myth tells of Orpheus, the beautiful singer, who defeated evil Furies who then admitted him in the realm of shadows Hades. It is known that Orpheus’s singing and playing the lyre (cittern) could revive stones and trees.

By music and dancing have also been distinguished festive entourages of God Dionysus. In musical iconography there are many scenes with Dionysus, where along with food, are depicted creatures playing musical instruments.

 Musical and aesthetic formation of personality is one of the problems the solution of which depends largely on the further development of human culture. Currently, this problem is considered by many researchers the following way: dramatically escalates its humanistic orientation in connection with the global objective of the preservation and development of culture. With particular acuteness arose the question of giving a new status of the problem of identity formation, and above all its aesthetic education, promotes the emergence, consolidation and development of new aesthetic, ethical, artistic values and motivations of each person.
It is widely known, that the core and main tool for aesthetic upbringing and formation of personality is an art different with universality of influence on the personality on all directions. Each form of art has a specific influence on formation of the person’s inner world.

Music in the system of arts takes a special place due to its direct comprehensive impact on humans. Multi century experience and special research showed that music affects the psyche and human physiology, it can have a soothing and stimulating effect, and cause a variety of emotions. In relation to this, a thesis about the importance of musical upbringing of a person and its importance in the development of the psychic qualities is more and more adopted in the system of aesthetic development of the individual. Music was a part of an educational process at all times, and now it has become more actual because the difference in sciences, narrow professionalization create a dangerous situation of turning men into one-sided specialist with limited knowledge.

In order to become a professional musician, singer or conductor it is required to received a corresponding education. Edexcel Examination Board provides this opportunity. Due to the developed by Edexcel qualification in music students can fully learn the art of musical instruments and voice.
The qualification includes several components, after which students will have to complete a standard written and creative exam, which will be designed by the educational institution.

1. Component 1: Performing
this component makes up 30% of the qualification. In the frames of this component student will have to have a public performance with a composition consisting from one or two parts totaling no more than eight minutes. Student can play on a musical instrument, sing solo or in ensemble, improvise
2. Component 2: Composing
After completion of the component it is required to present to compositions: one according to the rules provided by Pearson, the other to a personal preference, or according to Pearson rules. First composition should be no less than 4 minutes long, second not less than a minute. Component makes 30% from the qualification.
3. Component 3: Appraising
After completion of the component students will be required to complete two hour long exam. Component makes up 40% of the qualification. For successful completion of exam it is required to know and understand musical elements, contexts and language. It is required to successfully implement knowledge in six areas of music: vocal, instrumental music, music for films, pop-music and Jazz, Fusion, new directions. As well to apply personal knowledge two work with unknown compositions.
